Anyone have a line on where I can find a whippen(s) for the English made knight spinet? The whi p configuration is unique to this piano, and the closest one I can find is a Kimball but still won't fit right. Jack is pinned to the whip w/no separate flange (like the kimball) but the bottom is different; I suppose i could whittle with it a bit to fit, then reposition the felt pad. This piano is quite good quality, especially for a spinet. The abstracts connect to the keys like usual, but the rest is separate from the main action, so when the action is removed, it comes out minus all the spinet stuff, just like a direct blow action. ( I just used "action" THREE times in one sentence...whoops!) Not a bad tone either. Btw, as many of you know, the Knight verticals have no treble break, but it's remarkably stable. Il also heard they are out of business, but this may be old news. Maybe Kemble (pronounced Kem-Blee) bought the company? Anyway, I'd like to replace the one "missing" whippen (last one, C8) with a genuine Knight Whippen, so if anyone knows where I can find one, I'd appreciate it!
