Hello All, Based on research in our test room at the factory we see the following. Here the room is held as close to 70% RH as possible for the duration of the testing. When a complete system is used in a grand we can see the moisture content across the soundboard stabilized with less than a 1/2 of 1% equilibrium moisture content differential. This differential is about 3/4 of 1% with dehumidifiers and a humidistat only. We have attributed this to the high repeatability of the cycle with the full system. Does this make a difference in the field? Our test room has a very stable environment in terms of air movement. In more normal environments, the above differences are likely not significant. We are initiating a number of pitch stability tests and will be investigating this and other phenomenon using a Cybertuner over the next ten months. Perhaps something more dramatic will come from this testing. If so we will present the data at Kansas City next summer.
