Seems there are a number of folks on this list that have not run across the Young Chang Growing Action Bracket phenomena. I am in the midst of replacing the brackets on a 1991 Young Chang with this problem (or is it an opportunity?!). Below are several pictures showing how they can grow/expand. The picture below shows a new inner bracket standing in front of the old expanded inner bracket - you can easily see how much taller the old bracket is where the two main action rails sit on the brackets. http://tinyurl.com/6tvgt https://www.moypiano.com/ptg/files/attachments/d8/4c/ec/f1/ attachment.jpe Below is a similar picture as above, but with a new and old outer bracket. http://tinyurl.com/3n62d https://www.moypiano.com/ptg/files/attachments/b6/79/80/82/ attachment.jpe Below is a picture looking straight down at a new and old bracket - the new bracket is the lower one. You can easily see how the expanding brackets not only raise both action rails, but also increase the action spread. http://tinyurl.com/3ufq5 https://www.moypiano.com/ptg/files/attachments/81/0b/06/19/ attachment.jpe Below is a picture showing the general condition of some of these brackets - how the metal not only expands, but also deteriorates until it crumbles apart. The hammer flange rail mounts on the flat surface at the left side of the bracket. This puppy is toast! http://tinyurl.com/64dwo https://www.moypiano.com/ptg/files/attachments/1d/1b/9a/b5/ attachment.jpe Terry Farrell
