Hi you guys :)

Think of a catapult.  You have this giant chunk of rock you are going to 
hurl into the fortress walls on yonder.  You wind the thing up pulling 
back as much tension as you can.... and let go.  Just at the end of  the 
throwing arms arc there is this huge dune pillow which absorbs 70 % of 
the shock of stoping the arm.  What happens ?? All your infantry that 
happened to be standing 20 feet in front cheering this thing on just got 
flattened.  Ideally, the stoping condition would probably need to be 
about as hard as it could be without causing the arm to break or 
distort.  I'll leave it up to ya'all to figure out how this relates to 
the piano action :)
