Hi Folks Decided to take the sceptics seriously and did an experiement yesterday evening. I went into one of the proffessors rooms and changed a whole set from origional Yamaha cloth to Andres Whites. I didnt do anything else. I didnt let him know about it. For that matter he didnt even know I had been in his room. This was a C7. The stock Yamahas were also tapered just like Andres btw. His reaction today was quite suprising. He walked up to be eagerly at lunch and complimented me on a nice voicing touchup. I dont really know what else to make of this then that the punchings are very much noticable... in some fashion or another. As to Stephens post.... after reading it I began to wonder just what kinds of action wastes in the form he describes we can actually sense.. how much of this causes loss of hammer to string energy.... and how much we can really make ourselves conscious of. Pianists... really sensitive ones anyways... feel the voice of the piano... and they evidently feel a lot more. Cheers RicB
