What kind of buzz is it?  A metallic rattle or a wood-to-wood buzz?  If
you have isolated it down to the lid and can't find anything loose and
it seems to be a wood-to-wood type buzz, check the veneer on the lid (or
around the case for that matter) by tapping with your finger around the
perimeter and on the surface.  If it's loose you'll hear a kind of
clicking noise much like when you tap on a loose ivory.  See if that's
not the culprit.
