I can't accurately convey the satisfying feeling I get jointing the edges of panel flitches and then edge-gluing up a soundboard panel. I know a number on this list do this routinely, and perhaps the thrill will fade after my hundredth panel, but at least for now it is a true joy (and actually, I suspect it will remain so)!
 
Below is a picture of two panels for redesigned Steinway B bellies that I'm building for a client. Yesterday I did all the edge jointing (all done with hand planes for the smoothest, perfect-matching edges) and glued up the subpanels. Today I have been gluing the subpanels together to make the completed panels.
 
Completed panel in top half of picture, the second panel is in my panel clamps lying flat on the table.
