Grin....

Cant resist.. this is classic. As I've said in other posts... you cant
have it both ways... On the one hand... there is no real <<hearable>>
difference in acoustic performance between the CC board and the RC&S
board. but then zip zap diddly dap... they are more "responsive and
efficient" ... a difference that is no doubt unoticible to the ear.

Isnt magic just wonderful ??

>/ While I
/>/have not heard enough RC&S boards to draw a conclusion, I am beginning
/>/to think that t heremaybeasubtledifference.Ican'ttellyou
/>/exactly what that is, or even if it is for sure. But I am wondering.
/
......That was my
point. I don't know any difference that might be heard that would indicate
whether the board was CC or RC&S, as much because that isn't the only
difference as anything. I do know that at higher attack levels, the RC&S
boards with the other changes tend to be very difficult to overdrive into
distortion, but that's not unheard of in a good CC board too.

and then....

>/In a RC/S board, tension/compression runs completely in the direction the
/>/Great Goddess intended -- longitudinally. Trees were designed to be very
/>/sturdy and elastic in that direction. Vibration will not be damped so
/>/much by hysteresis in the system, although there will still be *some*
/>/hysteresis. I would think a RC/S board, therefore, would tend to be more
/>/"brilliant" or "bright."
/
More responsive or efficient, I would say.
