There are some very good reasons for giving discounts.

-There is overhead expense with each appointment scheduled. It may be
advertising, it may be postcards, it may be time spent on the phone
trying to fill in the schedule. Pianos on a regular schedule reduce this
overhead expense

-Not all of us have schedules packed full of appointments. If you find
yourself with a hole in the day, better to make a discounted rate than
nothing. Churches with regular office hours on a regular schedule lend
themselves quite nicely to this. I would not recommend offering a
discount unless the church had regular hours and agreed to let me
determine when I would come out (within the terms of the schedule).

-pianos tuned more frequently are usually easier to tune. True, there is
the same number of strings, same number of pins to turn. But often there
will be many that require no adjustment.
