You can mix it to any consistency you want. For the final fit of pinblocks to the stretcher, I mix it to the consistency of mashed potatoes (light ones). How does it effect strength? Not that matters much in this application Dale Mix the epoxy with colloidal silica, in addition to your other filler of choice (available from West System). You can make the epoxy as thick as you want it and it will stay in the notches without tape. Over fill slightly and sand it flat. It's good stuff to use for fitting pinblocks as well.
