Piano wire tensile strength

I'm not a piano builder I and don't know much about tensile strength,
but maybe their 3-4 twists in bass strings is actually 3-4 half turns.
180 degree rotations instead of 360.  

180 degrees could be a twist and 360 degrees a turn.  

3-4 twists is actually 1.5 - 2 turns?

Where's the nominclature police when you need them?
