   I got it. I think it's a manufacturing miscalculation in how  much the 
string was originally stretched & or twisted while wrapping. Most  my misery is 
with tri-chords or bichords on Stwy A's being dead at first and  failing to 
resuscitate apon stretching or twisting

I guess my question  has to do with what causes the "false" (but really real) 
beats. Is it directly  attributable to twisting, or something deeper in the 
string vibratory system  after but not because of the twisting. More research.
