Tuners Supply used to say that some moth stuff was corrosive to the metal stuff in a piano. They said theirs was a special formulation. Mind you it might have been sales hype. John M. Some piano owners are allergic/don't like the smell. If so, find a cabinet maker in your area and ask for some scrap cedar leftover interior closet sheathing. Sand if necessary to get the aroma. Next tuning appointment, smell for aroma and sand/replace until you do. Size, number and, placement of peices vary. It seems to get rid of the moths, and smells like Christmas year round. If you see Moth damage it may be to late except on lesser home owned pianos. Mice/Rats are another problem, they/their droppings may or not may be long since dead. Take care. A just weaned 'Possum will create total devistation.
