Matthew, Was it a Baldwin Acrosonic, by chance? If so, you need to look under Acrosonic (1981). As far as the problem goes, lots of things, as you seem to know. First thing I would do is determine if it is in the key, or above the key. Hold the key in its up position, lift the action and watch the return. If the action returns normally when you hold the key up, it's in the key. Check front rail bushing, balance rail bushing, bal. rail hole, also check for warped key sticks, rubbing against each other, preventing the return. If it's in the action, I would again check for parts alignment first, to ensure that parts are not rubbing where they shouldn't be. It really becomes a game of isolation. Figuring out how to isolate different aspects of the action and locate problems is a lifetime study. Respectfully, William R. You have to wait at least two seconds for the key to come all the way back up before you can play again. The key is quick is come back the first 1/2 inch or so, but the rest of the way, sometimes you just have to pull the key up again. What can be the many causes of this? Believe me, I am trying and I am learning, thanks! > > > > Matthew > > > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo! Mail - You care about security. So do we.
