This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment This is, indeed, the fabled Thayer action. Though there are more action centers to deal with, it is still very happy news. The Thayer feels much more "solid" for the player; it's a huge step up from wires and = grommets. =20 Here's the REAL happy news. you can remove and reinstall the whole = system almost as easily as an upright action. If you've ever taken out a = regular "drop sticker" action, thou knowest from whence I speaketh. =20 Alan R. This Story & Clark spinet from 1954 (S/N 246699) has an extra rail and flange, and two extra action centers. The back of the key has a capstan, that pushes up on a horizontal arm that = has an action center (attached to the extra rail) on the other side of the capstan from the strings. Instead of the typical rubber grommets = connecting to stickers, there's another proper action center. =20 I've held one key down in this shot; you can barely see the capstan on = the key. =20 --Cy Shuster-- Bluefield, WV =20 -- No virus found in this incoming message.
