Tom, You are exactly right! And I did put one in--at least I had my block of hammer felt with me! After I did what I could (for a system that really needs to be rebuilt), there was that *one last adjustment* for that tiny bit of bounce I could feel in the tenor section. Everything was off because the damper felts were too long. snip...snip.....snip.... This was the first time I used Bill Spurlock's jig for damper regulation. The *timing theory* of it didn't work, but once I set my samples it sure was nice.
