Well, as long as you posted though........ I've got a set of ?older? Mannino reamers that are inconsistent - I presume that was what you are addressing. The problem isn't so much the wire, but rather the roughed-up portion down by the handle. The wires might be the indicated size, but a rougher reaming section on the 0.048 reamer might actually be a similar size or even larger than the 0.049 reamer area. That's likely why I usually use my own reamers made from the long German wire.
