Hi John,

Hot hide glue works great.  I personally would avoid using a white or 
yellow wood glue, and would avoid using PVC-E or CA.  With hide glue you 
can remove it later without much trouble.

Several people have said that you don't need any glue?  Wouldn't the spring 
pop out of place?
