If you spray plenty of accelerator before applying the glue, the glue will set up in the hole before it soaks into the wood. I routinely apply a couple of drops of CA (no accelerator) glue to high use screw holes, such as action stack screws. I don't use accelerator unless they are stripped. I'm not looking to fill up the holes, just reinforce the threads so I want the glue to soak into the wood in this application.
