---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment John, I think I may still have the handout from a convention class by Baldwin's technical service guy on setting downbearing on an accu-just piano. If it's there, I'll e-mail a copy to you. From memory, the procedure involves stringing and bringing up to pitch at 0 downbearing, then tapping strings down the pins to the correct downbearing measurement in a particular order. The only thing is, they give the downbearing spec's in "percent", which is a direct read from Baldwin's bubble level gage. Maybe someone else on the list can provide a conversion from Baldwin Percent Downbearing to a more common unit, such as degrees?? The tuning pins are looser, than they should be. They don't like my suggestion of trying C/A glue. Do we repin, and readjust the bearing from scratch? How would that be done. Do we maintain the height, by clamping at the accujust pin, to hold position when the tension is off? What is the best thing to use as a clamp, if above is true?
