Don't rely on clamps to squeeze out the bead of epoxy, they might not draw the block to the plate along its length. Besides, if you're not good at locating the screw holes, the block might shift slightly. Fit the block to the flange in the normal manner. Clamp the block in place and drill the screw holes and install the screws. Now you have your block registered to the plate and the screw holes tapped so installation on a finished plate is easier. Remove the screws and apply a bead of Marine-Tex epoxy putty (very high compression strength) to the block edge. http://www.marinetex.com Chalk the flange and clamp the block in place and install several screws (every third screw should be sufficient). Now your block is is fitted tight and registered. Center punch the tuning pin holes. If you made corner templates by drilling indexing holes through the plate into the old block before your tore it down, drill your new template indexing holes in the new fitted block through the plate, fill the plate holes with the leftover epoxy. -- Regards, Jon Page
