Steinway double-flange fitting to butts

Hello David and List
I've put my inventors hat on and have a mental image of a pillar-drill with
punch and an adjustable stop (pillar drills usually have this anyway) The
punch is brought down onto the birdseye and compresses it to fit the ears of
the flange...... Flight of fancy from The Village? :-)
