This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment It is not uncommon for an agraffe to break when no one is around any more than strings break when not in the company of people. I would be stunned if this were not a warranty issue - piano only 6 years old - and the agraffe being part of the manufacturing process. These are not items adjusted by technicians such as are the strings, etc. If there is a question as to whether or not it is under warranty, I would suggest having the owner pursue through the dealer. Many times the owner's tenacity will get quicker and more definite response than the independent tech.
