      Respectfully, The knuckles on some of these pianos can be =
problematic, but the symptom we are describing is independant from the =
knuckles.

      One can remove the whippen from the action, activate the jack and =
hear-see the aforementioned noise as the jack regulating punching =
collides with the spoon.

      No doubt ,that the asian knuckles can also need attention, but =
smoothing the leather with 220 grit or finer sand paper followed by some =
teflon powder will generally quiet them down,

  .

      If they are loose in the shank and otherwise Ok ,I would follow =
Mr. Monroes' suggestion and reglue with a drop of CA.
