Hi Dale, Thanks for the advice. The "new tapes" is no problem, but the catchers don't hang down, and thus have no the area available for the felt squares that the jacks bump against, so I was worried that something bad might happen on heavy playing. Al Pebworth emailed me privately and said that he has used the Renners on plenty of old players, with no problems. I, for one, do not lament the closing of the Pratt-Win plant. The Butts I got from them were quite disappointing .
