Hey there Thumpy I'd suggest getting handy with a router. Rout out a channel about 5 mm deep the exact witdth of the mortices and glue in new pieces of wood to fit. Not really as difficult as you might think and a lot less messy then epoxy mixes. Just a thought RicB
