Joe - that Irish piano was a Lindner... (The good Lord preserve us all from
these, begorrah!) 'Tis said (by leprechauns, of course) that when the
factory closed they paid the workforce off in pianos. It wasn't the actions
that disintegrated, it was the plastic keys. It was also the peculiar
push-fit flanges to which the action parts were attached that broke as did
the clockwork springs by which means the keys were attached to the metal
keyframe. Advanced before their time. Made now, the plastic would be better!

That is simply not true. You are confusing the Rippen with the one made by
Rippen's Son, in Ireland. (Can't remember the name of it, even tho I have
one, it's "buried" right now.<G>)

Del owned one and it was a good piano, as I recall.

Perhaps he can fill you in on the particulars.<G>
