bridle tape braid color

Those tapes always used to be white. Right from the start - and I quote
Broadwood Cottage Uprights as my reference. Then some bright spark started
producing green. Not only in sets of tapes, but in sets of clip-on tapes as
well. I'm very glad to hear that the predominant colour is back to white! It
matches the hammer  and damper felts!

Just curious:  Does anyone know why the color of the braid on the bridle
tapes that we get anymore is not light green, but white.  My suspicion is
that is is cheaper to make them white.
