Hi Robin. The woman who plays the piano is probably 5'4" and is fairly petite. About 40 years old. She's a quiet, sensitive person but (being a teacher) she knows what she wants. I personally do not think the pedal is outside of the realm of useable. She's just very particular and I'm hoping to tweak the pedal so she'll be happy. I'm not about to disassemble her pedals however (not a good place for a first time) and I've spoken with a tech at the University of Texas that may be able to come out in January if I'm still having issues. Thanks for the suggestions. Michelle Smith ****** Is the player a large robutst adult male, a petite lady of a fair number of years, or some other easily identified demographic that might help explain the difficulty they are experiencing? But, mainly, I would suspect the spring. Why it should be so beyond ordinary stiffness or strength is beyond me. Perhaps it was chosen to give the impression of this being a larger piano than it really is; i.e., a sales gimmick. This will be an interesting thread, I do believe. LOL Robin
