Hi,David! Good suggestion about building a new bracket system for Kimball
lyre,.. BUT Take another look at it.It has no BUTTOM,the whole box needs
to be modified.Every time I look at those creatures-the more I appreciate
good solid Steinway,Baldwin,Mason-Hamlin,Yamaha designs

If new pedal lyre box will be installed {it's possible",then it needs to be
refinished..Here is another expance.. APSCO used to sell components for Lyre
repairs, boxes were sold separately.Very good traditional design. Let's keep
exploring it.. Hope,my info helps.. Best Isaac

There it is Billy Benjamin, right in front of your eyes...the broken plastic
piece. It holds the pedal pins in place in the lyre. Can't you come up
with something that would work? Make it out of wood...maybe a brass
bar...duplicate it somehow...that's what's fun about the business...when you
get done with it, take a picture and show us what you did! Remember the
dowels we sometimes see in pedals, one on either side of the pedal with a
bushed hole the pin when in...maybe something like that would work...

Hello list,

This is my first time with a real question so no snickering. Especially
about the piano, ha ha

My customer said she had a noisy sustain pedal. It is a Kimball Viennese
grand. Well the pedal looks like a Mustang that had slid in to a ditch.
When I removed the lyre I found that there is a piece that holds all three
pedals in place. It is nylon and it is broken. I called Schaff and they
said they used to have some replacement parts, but they were all gone.

Now the question. Does anyone have one or do you have a reasonable repair
procedure? I wish that she would just trade it in on another piano, but
that is a different story.

Thanks in advance,

William
