Steinway replacement hammers

Subject: Steinway replacement hammers 

 


Is there a way by which one could positively say if a replacement hammer on
a Steinway (Model M) is a true Steinway (authentic) part, as opposed to a
third party replacement?

Original Steinway hammers have a tied wire through the felt, not a staple
driven into each side.
