Fw: v-bar/capo repair (& bridges)

Roger,

Let me know what you think after you've experimented with them a little bit.
I say experimented, because they can be moved around and sometimes moving
them just a fraction of an inch will take care of the problem. Sometimes
only one on a trichord is needed, sometimes two.
They aren't perfect, but they seem to allow more sustain. Perfect would be
a newly dressed capo. These are a convenient interim fix, as is glue or
cloth or buckskin.

And there is a learning curve to installing them without dropping them in
the action. A little practice, perhaps with a cloth over the action in the
beginning, so that retrieving them is easier. After you get the hang of is,
it is quite simple and quick....like most of what we do.

Good luck,

Jeannie

P.S. It gives me great pleasure to learn that there is actually something
out there that maybe you haven't tried yet!!! ;>)

Hi Roger,
Ive tried glue, but find the couplers far easier to use and I have better
success in blocking specific undesirable partials, with moving them around,
than the glue method. Have you tried the Pitchlock Couplers?

HI Jeannie,
I have seen them at the conventions, and dabbled around
at some of the samples. I have also meant to buy a kit to try for myself.
Since you seem to be giving the nod, it will spur me into action :-) .
Guess some of my old habits die hard.
Long winded way to say no.
Thank's Roger
