Filing hammers

Invariably, when you are done with the rough filing you need to elevate the
hammers to strike level with a platform underneath the tails and on top of
the backchecks.  Then sit with your eyes at the same level.  Sight along the
tops and make small corrections with very fine paper cut to single hammer
width.
