Is there a CA downside?

I've been reading lots about the benefits of CA, how much to use, and how to apply it.  As one trained by folks who do not dope the tuning pins--and they make a good case--I wonder if there is a downside to using CA.  It seems that the majority of responders on the list use it when they think necessary.
 
I look forward to 'hearing' some responses.
