I got the tip from someone on the list about using a small soft-sided cooler. Mine has a shoulder strap (really just an invitation to carry more crap) and a couple of pockets on the outside that will hold tightbond & liquid hide glue. The insulating effect is not great, but it's enough fro me to leave it in the car for the workday without having to worry too much about things either freezing or cooking. It also contains the odors pretty well (even Lakeone Wood Rebuilder). - Mark Dierauf -----Original Message----- From: Farrell [mailto:mfarrel2 at tampabay.rr.com] Sent: Friday, March 31, 2006 1:00 PM To: Pianotech List Subject: Re: Kit for Liquids? I keep mine in a small insulated cooler - leakproof and helps to control liquid temperature in a hot car. It has worked very well for me. Terry Farrell ----- Original Message ----- The discussion about where to keep spare hammers etc. prompted Joe Garrett to recommend (for the umptieth time): "I strongly urge you to "compartmentize". i.e. a woodworking kit, a stringing kit, a repinning kit, a regulation kit, etc." What about the liquids? I notice that I have on hand: Alcohol; Ronsonol lighter fluid; Goose Juice and Protek and McLube; CA glue; CA debonder; acetone; yellow glue; wallpaper remover; a jar of homemade V-J Lube; and probably several more such liquids - some of which are quite volatile, many of which are messy. And some of them have a master container and a smaller dispensing container. Where do you keep such things? I have these all in a plastic toolbox that has quite the reek when I open it. On occasion I've left them in a hot car to my regret. Please, I'd love to hear how you folks manage the arsenal of liquids.
