Birdcage tuning

We don't use a strip at all. Papps wedge only. Because this piano has a top bridge the strings are deflected in the horizontal plane so that visually the hammers do not align with the tuning pins. Notice the chalk marks on several of the tuning pins. I mark them into 4ths and 5ths divisions so I know where I am.

  They really give me a pain . .  luckily, only have a few customers with these 'antiques' . .
