tuning pin bushings too big

Dittos. Good suggestion.  I do this to  many plates. Especially Steinway to 
prevent the pins from possibly leaning into  the plate hole itself.

I'm not an expert, but I'd say if there is room (and I  suspect there is)
just drill out the plate to enlarge the existing tuning  pin holes in the
plate to whatever size bushing you wish to  use.
