piano tuning- fickle church accounts

Years ago I went to tune in the community room of a retirement complex near 
where I lived in FL.  First time customer for me.  I opened the top of the 
console piano and saw that another tech (and friend) had been there just a 
year prior.  I gently eased into the conversation with the events planner 
about Mr R. having tuned the piano the last time.  I quickly found out that 
they had heard the terrible news of Mr. R.'s death - what a shame, such a 
nice man, they were always so happy with his work.

Big ooooops!  Mr. R was very much alive and well and living less than a mile 
away!

I did correct the "mis-rumor".  When I told Mr. R about the incident he was 
quite amused.
