Paul,

I had one a couple of years ago where A0 windings started too close to the bridge and were buzzing on the bridge notch.

Subject: bass string buzz

I tuned a brand new Hamilton yesterday. The B0 string had a loud buzz, which sounded like metal vibrating against metal. I double-checked that there were no foreign objects touching the string or soundboard (front and back), and that the buzz wasn't coming from the trapwork or action. The noise is definitely originating inside the piano, it's not a sympathetic vibration from some object in the room.

I assume the string itself is the problem, but before I contact Baldwin for a replacement, what else should I check?

Thanks,
Paul Mulik
