recycling not-so-old hammers

As piano technician for a local college, I came across a piano that is being used as a 'prop' for an upcoming theater production. They had removed the strings, plate, and pinblock in order to make it lighter since it needs to move on and off stage.

I looked inside the piano and found that the hammers and shanks had been replaced recently. Furthermore they look like Renner hammers to me. With very little wear.

So the question is: how hard would it be to rebore these for a different piano? If I cut off the old shanks (actually they're relatively new, too) flush, couldn't the hammers be re-bored and installed in a different piano?

I don't see a reason why not, but then, there's so much I don't know. What do you guys think?
