The extendible rod, or any rod, could be put under the bottom, but would likely have little effect on the soundboard. A bottom cover would be difficult to fashion as the case does not extend lower than where the rods might go on the bottom. I can't imagine any way to install a DC humidifier system. However, if you were very determined, you might be able to rig up a dehumidification system. The only way I can think of to do it would be to put a rod above the keys, in front of the action stack and extend it into the bass cavity. Of course, the rod would have to be removed whenever the action was removed. Or you could put very short rods in the bass cavity only or short rods in bass cavity and a short rod maybe attached to the front of the action stack. And of course, use a humidistat - likely best to install at the entrance to the bass cavity. Any of these possible installations would likely require quite a bit of ingenuity!" Terry, I really hate to burst your bubble, but there is NO Bass Cavity! There IS a very small cavity on the treble end, but not enough to install anything into. The only practical way to use a DC system, (partial or complete), is to make a floor length cover and have a "free standing" system in the "TENT".<G> That will probably go over like flatulance in church, as most Square Grand Owners are enamored with the looks of the instrument.<G> Regards, Joseph Garrett, R.P.T.
