Greetings -

Saw a 1902 Steinway B yesterday that was originally purchased from Steinway by the Kelly family in Springfield, OH (Kelly plates). Was in the Kelly family until 30-40 years ago when it was purchased by current owner, who resides in London, Ohio, about 25 miles from Springfield.

Was asked to appraise, but it was nearly impossible to get to the piano in the garage it has been stored in for the past couple years. Managed to get the lid up and play it, but could not get underneath it. Anyway, it has a nice figured walnut case - needs refinishing, with the only veneer damage at curve of the two front "arms". Bridges in fantastic shape, pin block very unifomly tight. Very little play has been inflicted upon this piano, however I suspect it needs a new board based on the musical response I got from it.

For a long list of reasons, the owner wants to sell it, and hopes to get around 10K, but realizes he must take what he gets offered as he would like to get it moved. If there are any interested parties, email me privately and I will put you touch with the owner and answer any other questions you may have. Frankly, the most interesting aspect of the piano was the Kelly family angle, and I have no doubt that would be a major plus in the market.
