Hi Cy,
The bent pin will not effect the speaking length of the note. And string
length as well as thickness are what determine the tension the string needs
to be at to achieve a given pitch.
length x size x  tension = pitch/ vary either of the first two will change
the tension to get a given pitch. Since it is easier to change
size -------------------
