According to West System's user manual the 404 has **** (excellent) 
for Bonding Hardware (Mayonnaise Consistency) as compared to *** 
(very good) for the 406 (colloidal silica), which for all other uses 
equals or betters the 404.  For this purpose I'm certain the 
colloidal silica is more than adequate and nothing tougher is needed.
