plastic flanges

While tightening the plastic hammer flanges of a mid 40's Mason/Hamlin, one
of the plastic flanges broke.  Do I need to replace it with another plastic
one, or would a wooden one be fine?
 
Any specific or weird dimensions to those flanges or are chances good that I
can find one from my saved parts bin?
