My druthers would be the drop action over the compressed action. But then with all the new stuff comming out of far away places it is hard to justify reccommending work on anything from 1940 to 1980 in the shape of a box. Why do you say that? With then general sloppiness and slowness of the wire drop-sticker action, what possible difference could it make? But the cost of replacing is much higher. Got my last set of wood that replaces the plastic from Pianotec. While they work, they are a little shorter. One needs to turn them into the wood 1/16" less to keep the regulation of lost motion near the same. If replacing with the plastic, tool # 317 makes easy work of the removal of the old elbow. Do I need to replace it with another plastic one, or would a wooden one be fine? Any specific or weird dimensions to those flanges or are chances good that I can find one from my saved parts bin?
