Upon investigation, it seems to be coming from the rear of the keysticks. I found a white powdery substance on the screws that are in the ends of the keys. I think the prevoius tech sprayed teflon on them. I dislike using teflon, Is there any other remedy? The small rubber grommets/washers, where the adjusting threaded rods are, are not dried out. What to do? Thanks in advance, Julia Gottshall Reading, PA Julia, As been suggested I think the grommets are the likely culprits. I have a few in my small parts container for spot replacement and to demonstrate the need for repair. Switch one to find out. Also ,Why do you dislike Teflon? Protek is "Teflon" and the powdered Teflon is great on knuckles. I can't imagine it helping a noisy grommet but in general the flouro-polymer (sp?) based stuff has been embraced by the club.
