I am restoring an 1859 Erard Grand, and I just got the soundboard decal from DecalsUnlimited. The decal is absolutely huge--it's nearly 11 inches wide, and the delicate lines are thick and bulky, not slim and elegant. On any Erard that I know of, the distand between bars on the plate is 7.5 inches; so, if installed, the decal won't fit neatly and readably between bars, it'll be partly hidden by the bars on both sides of it and will stick out on either side. I don't know what they are thinking, but this can't possibly be correct. The decal is the Erard logo in script with decorative lines. Does anyone have any experience with this? Could the decal possibly have been sideways orginally? My soundboard had no decal when I got it, so I have nothing to go on. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Bored stiff? Loosen up...
