Player piano problem

Hallet & Davis should be a Simplex action, which could be 
either single, or double valve. I'd start with tightening 
every screw in the stack that you can get a screwdriver on. It 
doesn't take much of a gasket leak to produce a cipher. Snug 
'em down and the problems might just magically go away. Hosing 
is a distant second probability.
