The KG*E models are quite a different piano from their predecessors, having a better metal frame among other things. I believe they also switched from the Herrburger 1899 action to the Erard-Herz for this and subsequent models. The KGs are not as good-toned as their contemporaries in the GS range, not to speak of the RX-A (which is tremendous) and the run-of-the-mill RX series that developed from it; but it was when they brought in the Es that I recommenced stocking the KGs alongside the GS, since the improvement was marked.
